In India’s bustling cities, many children grow up in slum communities without access to proper schooling or learning environments. For first-generation learners, early education is more than ABCs—it’s a lifeline. It prepares them emotionally, socially, and cognitively for formal schooling. At Nav Jeevan Prayas Foundation (NJPF), we believe that introducing structured learning early on helps bridge systemic gaps, reduce dropout rates, and build the confidence every child deserves to succeed—regardless of where they come from.
In the first 6 years of life, a child’s brain develops faster than at any other stage. These formative years shape how they learn, interact, and think. For children in urban slums, early education offers stability, safety, and a structured environment—something often missing in their surroundings.
When a child joins an informal learning center like those run by NJPF, they experience:
For many, schooling remains a dream deferred.
At Nav Jeevan Prayas Foundation, we work closely with families in Delhi’s slum areas like Vijay Enclave and Dwarka Puri. Our informal learning centers provide:
Since 2019, we’ve helped over 1,200+ children take their first confident steps into the world of learning.
Rani, a 9-year-old from Dwarka Puri, never attended school before joining our center. Within weeks, she began recognizing alphabets, asking questions, and eagerly reciting poems in class. Today, she’s preparing to enroll in formal school—and dreams of becoming a teacher.
When you support early education for underprivileged children, you give them:
Be part of the change. With your donation or time, we can open more learning centers, train more teachers, and reach more children who are still waiting for their first book.
Early education isn’t a luxury—it’s a right. And for India’s urban poor, it’s a critical stepping stone toward equality and dignity. Together, we can make sure every child, no matter where they’re born, gets the chance to learn, grow, and shine.
It’s easy and free!
